Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our PTA, staff, pupils and parents we have a Hobbit House!

We are very lucky to have such a remarkable, innovative building, reminiscent of the Tolkien subterranean home. The one of a kind deisgn is built to our very own specifications and is home to our brand new IT suite and library with the aim designed to enthuse and stimulate young minds.

The design has a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability and the full cavity insulation means low running costs.  The real grass roof bring a huge range of benefits, including reduced heat loss, absorption of carbon dioxide, increased biodiversity and proven effects on human wellbeing.

We are looking forward to inspiring the next generation of readers in this new amazing space.

Stockport band and worldwide chart toppers, Blossoms returned to their hometown to officially open The Hobbit House in November 2022.

The band were blown away with the state of the art building and commented "we could only wish that we had something so magnificent when we were at school".

The rockers spent time with students and answered lots of their questions, before pupils serenaded the band with a special version of their 2016 hit single, Charlemagne. After cutting the red ribbon and declaring the new library, the band then got to have a tour of the facilites, and then rounded-off their visit by posing for pictures and signing autographs for all the students and staff.

Greave have a bit of a reputation for attracting some well known names to school. Our most recent visitor was none other than Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham.

Andy came and listened to our pupils discuss Greave's exciting environmental initiatives and our plans going forward. He answered some very interesting questions (obviously we asked him what his favourite biscuit was!), he played some football on the playground and had a tour of school including the Hobbit House which he was very impressed with!
