Parents' And Teachers' Association

Dear Parents/Carers
To All the Parents and Carers of Greave School & Early Years
We would like to take the time to introduce ourselves as the newly volunteered joint chairs to Greave Primary School PTA, Simone Braithwaite, Louise Byron and Judith Stevens.
We all currently have children in reception so feel extremely committed and enthusiastic as well as thrilled to be taking on the role.
As parents we feel we can work well together to raise money for our school, but at the same time organise fun and value for money activities.
Over the past years you, the parents, have given your support to the PTA which has enabled the school to be provided with the trim trail, digital cameras, performances, the list is endless.
Although we have lots of new ideas, we still need your continued support. Whether that is fundraising ideas, an hour of your time in preparation for an event, help at an event or donations, it doesn’t matter, any help large or small is welcomed.
We have set up a Facebook page which we would like to encourage you to join, ‘Greave Primary School PTA’. We thought this would be helpful to keep us all in contact and up to date with each other. Please note, by joining the group you are in no way committing yourself, it is just a way of keeping everyone informed of what is happening.
We are to hold our first PTA meeting at school on Tues 25th May, 8pm. At the meeting we would like to discuss the summer fair which is set for Saturday July 24th.
We are hoping you can make it as it will be appreciated.
We thank you in advance for your time and support and look forward to your much needed input.
Regards
Simone, Louise & Judith
When each child starts school, every parent invests the next seven years revolving
around school and the start in life it gives your children.
Greave school PTA is a very successful partnership between parents, children and teachers – past and present. The success of the fundraising and the achievements that are evident throughout the school could not have come to fruition without the hard work of the PTA and support of the parents.
There are obviously smaller things that the PTA provides for the children, classroom equipment from the teachers ‘wish list’, funding outside productions at Christmas, outdoor games equipment and the list goes on. There are also the vital things such as replacing and updating PC’s and equipment for the ICT Suite to keep the children up to date with the most current learning materials available.

We organise many events, our most famous being our Summer and Christmas Fairs. These are enjoyed by not just the children and their families but by the community as well. They are fun to organise albeit hard work and we are always in need of extra help and new ideas.
We hope that in a few short paragraphs we have managed to convey to you how important the PTA is to our school. To continue to thrive and provide those extras that we all want for our children, we really do need the continued support of all our parents.
Please feel free to join our very friendly PTA, new faces are always very welcome or just spare us an hour or two of your time and help out at one of our events. We are very appreciative of all our members and volunteers, whether they are contributing 1 hour or 50!!!!!
