Greave

Greave is a small hamlet located near Romiley, Stockport Cheshire. The location has been occupied for many years as far back as Roman times when  is thought that there was a  settlement just down the road along Sandy Lane. Until recent times the area was mainly agricultural with only a small population living in the vicinity of the "Foresters Arms" the local public house; today the area is part of the conurbation of Greater Manchester and is largely residential.

The school was built in the 1960's and as can be seen on the map is set within a large amount of ground, with fields surrounding three sides.

The rear field is used regularly during the summer months for PE lessons and Sports days as well as a play area for students during break times.

The school building itself features eight class rooms, three used for infants, four used for juniors and one used for a playgroup and after school care.

When the school was originally built, it featured a 'Quadrangle' at the centre of the building, this has had several uses over the years including a rabbit run for the school rabbit and a small garden. In more recent years, the quadrangle became a library and computer suite.
